First Love Tour 2009: Something to Say

Hey everybody! I hope spring break is going great. I just got back from Memphis, Tennesse with my church middle school chior, First Love. The name of our show was Something to Say. We had an amazing time performing, doing block parties, and sharing the love of Christ with the people of inner city Memphis. I think alot of you have already seen pictures on the blog of Mark Sims for the trip, but if you havent the address is http://web.me.com/smbc so go check them out. We left on Friday night and came back this afternoon. On Saturday there was still a small drizzle, but not much. We picked up trash in some of the neighborhoods and then we had a block party at what they call "the circle". There was alot of mud but we made it. Theye ended up washing everyones T-shirts we wore and jeans because they were so dirty. When they went to the wash place they had a minor miracle. There was no possible way they would be able to wash everything, but the people at the store fired up the biggest washer they had..Big Bertha..it held 80 pounds of clothes and guess how many we had..80!! We did a concert everynight. Then on Sunday we went to several different churches and were able to experience a diffrent kind of service for most of us. We also had a concert that night. When we got there we had a problem, our stage wouldnt fit n the church we were at's so we did the show with no risers but everything worked out. We also had a pizza blast that night with the church's youth. We were all very tired by day 3, but we pulled through witha day camp for the people in the Greenlaw Community with a concert. That evening we had the Lord's supper and it was bgreat. The sunset was beautiful! God answered our every prayer this weekend, it was supposed to rain on the night of our biggest concert, but it didn't. We had lots of decisions made to accept Christ and it is amazing how many people showed up.
